DANA DOUGHERTY

Dana graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. After relocating to the Washington, DC area, she began her career with Hyatt Hotels before pursuing her passion for travel as a Director with an independent meeting planning company. In that role, she partnered with corporations and associations to plan and execute conferences ranging from 100 to 1,500 attendees.

While taking time away from her professional career to raise her three sons, Dana discovered a passion for health, fitness, and working with children. She spent 18 years actively involved in Arlington Public Schools as a substitute teacher and dedicated volunteer, ultimately returning to the workforce full-time as an elementary special education teacher. During this time, she held numerous leadership and volunteer roles, earning both community and state-level recognition. Her involvement included serving on the Arlington Public Schools Health Advisory Board, Whole Child Working Group, and Healthy Community Action Team, as well as holding board positions with elementary and middle school PTAs and Arlington Little League. She was also a member of the Action for Healthy Kids Tri-State Coalition. Dana was honored as Arlington Public Schools Volunteer of the Year in 2016 and received the Virginia Governor’s Outstanding Adult Volunteer Award in 2018.

Through supporting her sons in athletics, Dana witnessed firsthand the lasting impact and opportunities that travel sports can provide. Following a transformative family MVP trip to Italy in 2019, she realized she could combine her professional expertise with her personal passions. Dana now enjoys working with MVP creating meaningful travel experiences that bring together sports, culture, and connection, working closely with athletes, individuals, and families to craft unforgettable moments.
