MVP International Partners With EJEPL

WASHINGTON – The Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League (EJEPL) youth hockey league extends from Maine to Florida.

But thanks to a partnership with MVP International, the geographic footprint of the EJEPL will go one big step further in the coming year.

MVP International, a leader in youth sports travel, will team up with the New York-based hockey group for overseas tours. MVP International has been leading tours in various sports for several years, including many to Europe.

“I am thrilled to see the hockey division building with such a trusted and well-run organization. The impact we will be able to make together will be unforgettable,” said Eli Facenda, Chief Marketing/Enrollment Officer & Part Owner of MVP.

“I am very excited about the possibility of traveling across the ocean and sightsee and play and get a good family experience,” said Henry Lazar, the Owner and Commissioner of the EJEPL. “I think it is great for the kids and we are looking forward to it. Parents are

looking for good experiences with their kids. That is why they would do this.” EJEPL hopes to send teams overseas with MVP International starting in 2023.

“It is an absolute Home Run,” Jon Sandos, Director of Hockey Operations with EJEPL, said of the partnership. “We want to create lifetime experiences and this is one way to do that. The plan is to have two or maybe three EJEPL teams enter into the MVP program and the tours. That is the plan. We can’t wait to get it started and create these lifetime memories.”

Sandos and Lazar already have overseas experience as they took a 15-18U team to Israel in 2013 for the Maccabiah Games, an Olympic-style competition for Jewish youth. Four years later, Sandos took another youth hockey team to Israel for the 2017 Maccabiah

Games. Sandos will again be taking another team this coming summer in 2022.

“The experience was incredible,” Sandos said. “That is what we are looking for with that partnership with MVP International. We are able to offer something unique and different to our players.”

The Hockey Director/GM for MVP International is Simon Roberts, who brought several decades of international hockey experience to the organization.

He led his first tour with MVP International in 2018 to Central Europe with a group of 16u players and families and plans to take three hockey teams to Scandinavia with MVP this coming summer.

“They would like to work with us at MVP,” Roberts said of the partnership with EJEPL. “They want to promote MVP and send at least two teams to Europe in 2023. It is a way to support player development, it has to be about player development. The player development element is so crucial to developing a life-long hockey player. They became smarter players; that is what it is all about.”

Roberts, based in Northern Virginia, met Lazar and Sandos while coaching travel hockey.

“We got to talking and felt there was a lot of synergy there,” Sandos said. Lazar notes creating memories and life-changing experiences in sports is critically important. And that is also one of the missions of MVP International, which began several years ago in Virginia and has

extended its geographic footprint as well. Roberts said hockey players from several states, including Minnesota, Michigan, Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina, is planning to take part in hockey trips with MVP this summer.

“It is something unique for youth hockey; we can’t wait to get started,” Lazar said. “We deal with a lot of younger players. A lot of players develop in our league and then move on to higher levels.” Now some of them will get to experience hockey overseas before their careers take them to the next level. “I love taking teams to Europe; it is a great place to go,” Roberts said. “These trips are about creating once in a lifetime experiences for the kids.” For more information, contact MVP International Athletics, LLC at P.O Box 419 Vienna, VA 22183 or call us at 703-386-7503 or email at support@mvp-intl.com

About EJEPL

The EJEPL offers a competitive 16 game schedule for Squirts through Bantams and a 20-game schedule for Midgets, which includes two or three showcase events. The EJEPL has teams from 14 different states which allow your players the opportunity to play teams they would otherwise never match up against as all league teams attend the showcases. The league also allows flexible scheduling options to meet each organization’s needs. Games can be scheduled at your team’s convenience, at home or on the road, early in the season or late. The puck drops on the regular season at the end of August with playoffs being held in early February. This timeline allows for teams to seamlessly participate in their local league. If a team cannot travel to meet their 16 or 20 game schedule mark, the solution is simple in the EJ; the league allows teams to use any scheduled game to fill in their league schedule. This guest/dual league game flexibility provides easy scheduling for all teams. By joining the EJ, you will allow your player the exposure and opportunity to play teams you would otherwise never play and to have a well-run showcase and playoff events that allow for a positive hockey experience.
